The Las Vegas Performing Arts Intensive
Connecting Las Vegas Youth With Entertainment Professionals.
This July the desert will be an oasis for students interested in the performing arts. The production company One Yellow Fish Inc. presents: The Las Vegas Performing Arts Intensive. TheLVPAI directors are husband and wife team, Matthew Banks (Blue Man, singer, songwriter, composer) and Naomi Stikeman (Celine Dion dancer, writer, film director). Banks and Stikeman believe that expert instruction has the ability to change lives.
With only 35 spaces available, students will revel in the one on one instruction from today’s top entertainment professionals. Dripping with accolades, the critically acclaimed performers will join forces and share their knowledge from the following shows: O, Love, Viva Elvis, Le Reve, The Lion King, Chicago, Blue Man Group, Celine Dion and So You Think You Can Dance. The long list of stellar faculty and special guests is mind-boggling, included are: The Blue Men – from Blue Man Group, Sandi Croft – Artistic Director for Cirque du Soleil’s “O”, Barnev Valsaint – Celine Dion’s duet partner, Mark Swanhart – Contributing Choreographer for Celine Dion’s “Taking Chances” World Tour, and Allison Holker – America’s dancing sweetheart and All-Star from So You Think You Can Dance.
Each day, students will participate in dancing, singing, acting and drumming lessons.
The program will run from July 5th through July 29th, Monday to Friday, from 9am to 4pm. The classes will appeal equally to students who want to see their names in lights, and to those who simply desire a great summer experience and wish to learn new skills. The intensive will culminate with a performance for family and friends on the last day.
In addition to elite training, TheLVPAI is designed to provide a foundation for long lasting mentor relationships. Banks and Stikeman hope that the students will continue to gain inspiration, advice and support from the performers long after the summer intensive has finished.
