Summer Camp Helps Students Reach Potential
This summer the desert will be an oasis for students interested in the performing arts. One Yellow Fish Inc presents: The Las Vegas Performing Arts Intensive. The LVPAI directors are Matthew Banks (Blue Man, singer, songwriter, composer), and Naomi Stikeman (Geminin Winner, Celine Dion dancer, director). It will be a landmark summer as they unite our city’s talented and aspiring youth with some of the most celebrated performers, choreographers and directors working today.
A long list of critically acclaimed special guests will be joining forces to share their knowledge from the following shows: Blue Man Group, Celine Dion, O, Love, Viva Elvis, Mystère, Le Reve,The Lion King, Chicago, Jabbawockeez, and So You Think You Can Dance. Teachers include The Blue Men from Blue Man Group, Barnev Valsaint – Celine Dion’s duet partner, Sandi Croft – Artistic Director from Cirque du Soleil’s “O”, and Two-Time Emmy Nominee Stacey Tookey – choreographer and judge from So You Think You Can Dance. Their objectives are to provide instruction of the highest caliber, inspire excellence and broad participation, create a vibrant and safe space to explore one’s full potential, and empower individuals with new skills and thereby enhance daily lives.
“If people like yourselves continue to share your gifts with hopeful children, they will have the opportunity to better understand what they can achieve. I believe there is nothing greater than learning from the greats and you are the greats.” – LVPAI parent

Each day students participate in Dance, Voice, Acting and Drumming lessons. The program will be offered at Tivoli Village from July 2–August 3, Monday–Friday, and is designed for ages 9–14. In addition to elite training the program encourages and provides a foundation for long-lasting mentor relationships. Banks and Stikeman hope that students will continue to gain inspiration, advice and support from the teachers long after the intensive has finished.
