Giving Feels Good
Not all gifts are tangible.
When you support Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada, your donation isn’t just about giving money, clothes or a vehicle. It goes far beyond for the less fortunate Southern Nevadans.
You’re giving the gift of hope. You’re providing for people in need. You’re helping a child make sure his first meal of the day isn’t his last. You’re helping a senior citizen who can’t afford medicine get what he needs to maintain his health. You’re helping keep a roof over someone’s head.
Your donation goes toward the two dozen diverse programs that Catholic Charities offers. You’ll be helping people all of ages from all backgrounds, regardless of race, religion or creed.
Catholic Charities assists families, including aiding with adoption services and WIC supplemental food programs for infants and children, respite care and companion programs for seniors, and social services programs providing emergency food, clothing, diapers, school supplies, rental assistance, utility payment assistance, counseling and more.
Food service programs ensure people are receiving necessary nutrition, and employment services and shelter are provided for those who have fallen on hard times.
In 2009, more than 730,000 meals were served to men, women and children at the St. Vincent Lied Dining Facility. Forty-eight children were placed in loving homes through adoption services. More than 2,000 people were counseled about their immigration rights. Thousands of hours of service were provided to 812 children in 41 different schools through the Foster Grandparent Program.
It’s all about making a difference in the lives of less fortunate Southern Nevadans. That’s what Catholic Charities has been doing for 69 years, and with your help, we can continue our mission to accommodate the needs of our community, while providing those most cherished gifts – hope and help.
