A Parents Guide to Las Vegas

Despite a reputation for over-the-top decadence and alcohol-fueled partying, Las Vegas has diversified its entertainment offerings to include plenty of family-friendly activities. Sunny weather, reasonable accommodations and bargain food make it a popular family vacation destination. And the Entertainment Capital of the World offers plenty to do, from knock-your-eyes-out thrill rides and animal habitats to awe-inspiring shows and educational opportunities.

NBC’s version of this iconic movie has James Caan in the lead, lots of good-natured humor and no sex scenes or graphic violence. Families can use it to discuss the value of hard work, how gambling can go too far, and what a role community and families play in supporting those in need.

The slick juggling and high-diving skills of this Cirque Du Soleil show will wow kids of all ages. And there are plenty of other fun family-friendly entertainment options as well, from cheering on knights at Excalibur’s Tournament of Kings to boogie-ing in the aisles to the Jabbawockeez. Behind Circus Circus is the AdventureDome Theme Park, a five-acre indoor amusement park with arcade games and fair and pinball rides. And, don’t miss Madame Tussauds to get the chance to pose with life-size wax figures of favorite celebrities and characters.
